1. All calls are recorded for training and monitoring purposes

2. It is a Criminal Offence knowingly getting into a taxi & not having payment for the journey taken. Failure to pay will result in the Police being notified & we will submit to the Police all your personal details held by us.

3. An enquiry does not constitute a booking until confirmed by the company. Either by phone or email by what ever way you contact us. To enable us to meet your requirements, we need at least 24 hours notice for online bookings. Immediate or same day booking all other requests please phone the company on swindon taxi number 01793 251 251. General enquiries, quotes or non urgent bookings you can contact us through the Website. We will try to help wherever we can.

4. Our drivers are Hackney Carriage drivers and licenced by Swindon Borough Council. Taxis booked for journeys within Swindon Borough Councils jurisdiction is subject to metered fares and a booking fee of up to £2.00 may be added on to the fare at the companies discretion. Extra charges of £0.50 per person can be charged if there is more than One passenger at the companies and drivers discretion. e.g........ Six passengers will incur a £2.50 charge. Luggage or large items can be charged at the drivers discretion at £0.20 per item.

Journeys taken outside Swindon Borough Council is NOT subject to metered fares. Fixed fares can be agreed privately between the company and passenger. Any unscheduled drop offs or going in a different direction at the passenger/s request may incur a charge at the drivers discretion if the drivers determines excessively waiting time or mileage has been accrued as a result of the changes. We always recommend metered fared journeys as the best way to travel because passenger/s can see the price displayed at all times during transit.

5. The Company & drivers does not accept liabilities for any delays due to circumstances beyond our control, i.e........ those caused by accidents, diversions, riots, large gatherings / festivals or extreme weather patterns resulting in unsafe driving conditions. In these circumstances the driver will discuss with passenger/s of different options available. Depending on choices made an extra cost maybe incurred at the drivers discretion.

6. The Company & Drivers does not accept liabilities for any cancellations at short notice due to circumstances beyond our control, like extreme weather patterns resulting in unsafe driving conditions, i.e........ excessive flooding, Snow / Ice, etc. We will endeavour to to give as much notice as possible and any monies owed will be fully or partially refunded depending on the circumstances.

7. In circumstances beyond our control on the odd occasion, we may NOT to be able to provide transport for the booked journey. We reserve the right to call another taxi transport provider to take the passenger/s to their desired destination safely.

8. The Company accepts no responsibilities for any loss or damage to any property or luggage carried in the car however such loss or damage is caused.

9. Any damage caused to the interior/exterior of any of our vehicles by the passenger(s) will be charged accordingly.

10. We reserve the right to refuse or possibly charge passenger(s) more at the drivers discretion for our services due to the passenger(s) having excess luggage more than that was agreed at the time of the booking which would result in the vehicle being unsafe on the road.

11. Passenger(s) are responsible to load and unload their belongings and we will not accept liability for loss or damage to the luggage. Our drivers are very helpful and are able to assist if the luggage is heavy.

12. If you have a problem and/or complaint it is essential that you inform the driver immediately. If you wish to make a formal complaint, please notify our office in writing no later than 5 working days after your planned journey.

13. Smoking in the car is not permitted and against the law in the UK.

14. No alcohol is permitted inside any of our vehicles at any time under any circumstances. Should the vehicle require valeting due to the negligence or alcohol illness of any passenger(s) a charge of £75 will be incurred. This is to compensate for the subsequent loss of earnings/cost of cleaning.

15. The Company reserves the right to decline any bookings and to request any passenger(s) to leave the vehicle if it is deemed his/her conduct is incompatible with the safety of the driver.

16. We strictly require a mobile number for the passenger(s) we pick-up as this is our way of establishing contact with the passenger(s).

17. AIRPORT pick ups, we strongly recommend that passenger(s) contact the office immediately after landing, so we can confirm the dispatch of your booked car. Where the pick-up is not paid in advance we do not dispatch the car until such contact is established.

18. Prices agreed for collections from airports will be for pick ups only. Any charges incurred due to parking because of late arrival or an airport pick up toll charge, is to be payed by the passenger/s. Waiting time is free for for 30 minutes for UK arrivals and 45 minutes for International arrivals. After those permitted times the charges will be £5.00 for every 15 minutes waiting.

19. Please be aware that the legal status of all our private / taxi hire drivers is self-employed and they are not employees of A1 SWINDON TAXIS. However, it is illegal for the drivers to take a booking directly from the customers. Customers should book their journeys via our Website or our telephone number. Otherwise, the journeys may not be insured.

20. It is the customers responsibility NOT A1 Swindon Taxis to find out what the fare is for their destination. Please do not automatically assume that all taxi fares are the same within Swindon Borough Council. Every company charges different rates. 21. Without prior notice The Company reserves the right to amend, change, delete or add to these terms and conditions whenever it deems it necessary.




How can I pay?

We accept all debit/credit cards via online bookings or driver card terminal. Card payments subject to between 5% - 10% card processing fee. PayPal acceptable subject to conditions and Cash on the day. Sorry no cheques. There is no VAT charges on our fares.  

How far in advance do I need to book my car?

For advanced booking via Online Booking form, 24 notice is required. For bookings within 24 hours please call 01793 251 251 to confirm of availability.

Where will I meet my driver after landing at the airport?

Driver can waiting for you in the arrivals area with a meeting board. If you wish to avoid paying car parking charges, you can provide us your mobile number so we can arrange to meet you outside the arrivals building where PUBLIC drop offs laybys or something similar are located. Our driver may also call or text you information regarding vehicle registration and exact waiting area.

Do I need to pay for parking?

Car parking & airport toll pick ups is to be paid to the driver. A receipt will be provided.

Do you do tours/sightseeing?

Yes, we offer taxi hire for sightseeing tours to all desired areas and to your time scale.

Will you meet us at any time of day?
